The Office of the Chief Whip has learned with great sadness of the passing of ANC MP Comrade Nombulelo Hermans who succumbed to Covid-19 related complications yesterday.

Cde Hermans, who hails from the Northern Cape, became a Member of the 6th Parliament in 2019 and served in the Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence and the Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour. The ANC Caucus has lost a dedicated member who served with dignity and passion.

It is because of such untimely deaths of our beloved compatriots and loved ones that, as the ANC Caucus, we support the upcoming rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine, an intervention that is greatly needed in our country to save the lives of our people from this deadly virus.

As the ANC Parliamentary Caucus, we extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the late Cde Hermans.
